This most recent decision (December 2014) from the courts, granting us the necessary approvals to build Fort Mill Medical Center, allows us to proceed with our existing plans for development and construction. However, there is always the chance that an appeal to this decision, or other regulatory requirements, could affect our progress.
The proposed Fort Mill Medical Center will operate as a subsidiary of Amisub South Carolina, Inc., and as a sister hospital to Piedmont Medical Center.

We have long-standing relationships with a wide range of independent physicians across many specialties and have built our own PMC Physician Network. FMMC will be an affiliated hospital of PMC, and it is expected that there will be significant overlap of the medical staff. We have an open medical staff and anticipate our medical staff growing as a result of this decision. A full list of those physicians currently affiliated with PMC is available on Piedmont’s Physician Finder page.
Fort Mill Medical Center is projected to have a significant economic impact on the community, including a contribution of: Approximately 400 jobs $30 million: employee salaries, wages & benefits Provide millions in charity care and uncompensated care Spend millions with local vendors and contractors
